pasta with pears and blue cheese

If you want to impress your guests or simply want to enjoy a little luxury feeling without spending to much money, this dish is the perfect choice for you. Easy and quick to make, the combination of sweet pears and hearty blue cheese tastes like something you would order in an expensive restaurant – although you can get all ingredients n every supermarket for a cheap prize. Enjoy!

You need:

  • 75g pasta
  • 60g Saint Agur Blue (or any other creamy blue cheese)
  • 30ml milk
  • 1 ripe pear
  • 1 tablespoon of dried thyme
  • almond oil
  • some walnuts
  • salt

Cook the pasta with enough water and salt until it’s done. Heat some almond oil in a small pot, clean the pear and cut it in bite-sized cubes. Gently roast the pear cubes for a couple of minutes, then deglaze with the milk and melt in the blue cheese. Add the thyme and season to taste with some salt (Saint Agur isn’t as salty as other kinds of blue cheese, if you use a stronger one, you might not need any additional salt). Drain the pasta, put it on a plate or in a small bowl and spoon the sauce over the noodles. Top with some crumbled walnuts.
